DepEd says that there could be some changes regarding the opening of classes for the school year 2020-2021 depending on the development of the country's current health crisis.
Secretary Briones stressed that the department is already looking for contingency plans to make sure that learners will be able to continue their studies.
“We still assume that our school calendar will continue but we also know that anything can happen so we have contingency measures which are being undertaken,” Briones said.
Just recently, DepEd launched the use of DepEd Commons which gained numerous positive reviews among its unique users. This is what the DepEd is considering to use as an online-based education for the learners in case the national crisis continues. Although of course, the use of this modern platform does not fit everyone especially those who reside in far-flung areas where internet connectivity is not possible and gadgets are not available.
This will be a huge undertaking for the Department of Education to cater to every learner the proper education they need in the coming school year.

ReplyDeletei seconded
ReplyDeletepwede siguro gawing August na lang opening of classes, like what deped said, public schools tayo that caters for stakeholders who're on poverty line, ndi kaya i-apply ang home study thru online o gadgets, igaya o isabay na lang sa ibang schools na August din ang opening of classes, so as not to hamper the continous learnings ng mga bata .. sayang ksi ang isang school year ...
ReplyDeleteSince majority of our learners in our station are below poverty line, surely they could not afford the on line home atudies, so i suggest to have the opening of classes by August. Another thing, schools should be completely sanitized and disinfected first before housing there our learners and the school clientele, otherwise, we might put their lives at stake due to this covid19 virus.let's spend adequate time in securing our school facilities first and ensure a totally healthy, virus-free environment to our children.
ReplyDeleteI would prefer that classes will begin on August any date if and only the health issues will be cleared that the health of our children as well as with the teachers are safe. This is also to align with other schools having August as their opening.
ReplyDeletefree tuition fee in private school, free transpo, free food for student & yaya
