A member of DepEd Uniform Committee (DUC) in the person of Ma'am Emmalyn Policarpio made an update on the selection of our DepEd uniforms.
In her post, she mentioned that the selection of uniforms became a bit challenging to the committee with the different point of views and arguments at hand but still the decision of the majority shall prevail and shall be respected, she said.
Now that the DUC has already selected the uniform for DepEd employees, it will then be brought up to the ExeCom and the final decision regarding it shall be reflected under a DepEd Order.

"Nakaraos na rin sa wakas! Hindi madali ang ginawang pagpili ng DepEd Uniform Committee (DUC) para sa uniporme nating mga guro sa pampublikong paaralan.
May mga argumento, pagtatalo at mayroon ring pakiusapan. Sa dulo, igagalang ang pasya ng nakararami.
Tulad ng tinuran ko sa mga nauna kong mensahe sa mga gc at fbg, hindi man mapagbigyan ang ating posisyon, ang mahalaga ay naiparating natin ang mga ito.
Makikita sa Transcript ng naging mga pagpupulong ang posisyon ng ating organisasyon. Bagamat hindi lahat ng ito ay naipanalo.
1.Isang national uniform, isang disensyo at isang kulay o kombinasyon ng mga kulay tulad ng sa mga police, armed forces, health workers at iba pa. Gawin itong pangmatagalan at hindi palaging nagpapalit kada ikalawang taon.
Ibigay sa guro ang pagpapasya kung nais niyang bumili ng 4 sets o higit pa o kaya ay 2sets lamang.
2. Komportable at malamig na tela.
3. Simple, hindi kumplikado ang disenyo.
4. Hindi kulay puti lalo na ang para sa mga lalaking guro.
5. Bigyang konsiderasyon ang mga gurong nakabili at nakapagpatahi na ng kasalukuyang uniporme.
6. Ibigay sa guro ang Allowance at hayaang sila ang bumili ng tela.
7.Bigyan ng sapat na panahon sa pagbili at pagpapatahi ang mga guro.
Kung alin sa mga posisyong isinulong natin ang napagkasunduan ay abangan natin. Nais ko pong bigyang diin na una, ang DUC ay binubuo ng kinatawan ng iba't-ibang mga organisasyon.
Siyanga pala, tatlo (3) kaming mga guro (classroom teachers) na kabilang sa bumubuo sa kasapian ng komite.
Ikalawa, ang DUC ay isang recommendatory body. Ang lahat ng rekomendasyon nito ay iaakyat sa itaas at ihaharap sa ExeCom.
Pinakahuli, masasabing ito na ang pasya kung ito ay nasusulat sa isang DepEd Order na nilagdaan ng Kalihim ng Kagawaran."
