The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) sees to open its system for the Emergency Loan by Mid April 2020 as a response to the economic crisis brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
On their official Facebook page, an inquiry is made by one member about Emergency Loan to which GSIS responded with "Magandang araw po.

In the last TV interview with GSIS chairman, Rolando Macasaet, he mentioned that the calamity loan or emergency loan is normally given to affected provinces only. But since the whole country is now declared under the state of calamity, they are asking for the members' understanding because it is the first time that they will open this type of loan nationwide.
Macasaet also stressed that when the emergency is made available, it will surely be on an online basis given the current situation of the country and for more convenience on the part of the members.
