The Department of Education has once again reminded all its employees to avoid using their ATM cards as collaterals to loans popularly known as "ATM Sangla Scheme".
"Paalala sa ating DepEd employees, iwasan nating gamitin bilang collateral ang ating ATM Payroll card," DepEd said in a post.
Using an ATM card as collateral to a loan is against the DepEd Terms and Conditions for Accreditation under the Automatic Payroll Deduction.
DepEd also reminded all the employees that it is a "dangerous scheme". According to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, such ATM cards under the "ATM Sangla" could be used in identity theft or any illegal transactions.
