DepEd Undersecretary Nepomuceno Malaluan said over a phone-patched interview that the Department of Education is already planning on the possible schedule of the opening of classes for the next school year considering the current crisis of the country.
Malaluan said that the schedule might be announced in the first week of May at the earliest.
"We're looking at a year that would still be full of COVID-related disruptions. There is no decision yet of the push back in June. We might come to an announcement of that probably the earliest is the first week of May," Malaluan said.
DepEd is conducting various consultations with stakeholders like parents and the community as well as a thorough survey of every possible scenario that may happen over the next weeks or months.
