Mobile Data Allowance for Public School Teachers Pushed





A lawmaker has filed the House Bill No. 8639 or the "Mobile Data Allowance for Public School Teachers Act" which seeks to provide a monthly allowance to public school teachers intended for mobile data.

In the introductory note of this bill, a mobile data allowance is to facilitate decent and portable access to internet connection thereby improving learning instruction.

INTRODUCTORY NOTE

“The State shall promote a just dynamic social order that will ensure the prosperity and independence of the nation and free the people from poverty through policies that provide adequate social services, promote full employment, a rising standard of living, and an improved quality of life for all.”

In order to assist our teachers in the fulfillment of their noble profession of instilling life skills and values to our school children and to better recognize and appreciate their contributions to nation building, it is incumbent upon the State to shall provide mobile data allowance for every public school teacher to facilitate decent and portable access to internet connection thereby improving learning instruction.

This measure seeks to provide a Mobile Data Allowance in the amount that corresponds to the monthly data consumption of 30 GB with a minimum speed of 5 Mbps is hereby authorized to be given to all qualified public school teachers.

With the aim to continuously develop the country’s human capital especially in the field of education, the immediate approval of this measure is earnestly requested.
