Opening of Classes in August eyed by DepEd

The Department of Education is now eyeing for a possible opening of classes in August instead of June. Sec. Leonor Briones explained that the result of their consultations with the stakeholders shows that August is the most favorable schedule for the safety of everyone concerned especially the students.

"Ang lumabas sa ating mga consultations karamihan ay nagrerespond para sa August," said Sec. Briones.

According to her, they are also waiting for the proper recommendations from the inter-agency task force (IATF) and from the office of the President to come up with the final schedule for the opening of classes.

If the classes will open in August, DepEd encourages the learners and teachers to access other alternative ways to deliver learnings up until July for the continuity of education. They make access the most popular and useful DepEd Commons (www.commons.deped.gov.ph) which according to her, has now around 4.2 million users.
