Salary Increase for Public School Teachers Upon Retirement



Public school teachers shall be given one range salary raise upon retirement which will be the basis of the computation of the retirement pay.

Under section 26 of Republic Act No. 4670 also known as "The Magna Carta for Public School Teachers", it says:

Section 26. Salary Increase upon Retirement. Public school teachers having fulfilled the age and service requirements of the applicable retirement laws shall be given one range salary raise upon retirement, which shall be the basis of the computation of the lump sum of the retirement pay and the monthly benefits thereafter.

Followed by the DepEd Order No. 48, s. 1997 or the GUIDELINES IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE BENEFITS ARISING FROM A ONE (1) SALARY GRADE INCREASE FOR RETIRING PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS PURSUANT TO RA 4670. (Download Here)

  1. when I will retire at age 65, i cannot complete the minimum requirement of 15 years contribution. Can I avail a monthly pension?

  2. Obviously the earlier you start, the better off you will be. If you wait too long, you will be left with fewer options and will have to settle for low risk investments that give a lower return. retirement age

Sana iyong posting ninyo sa ming mga contribution ay gawin nyong updated..kasi parang hindi pa yata nawal yong mga loans record kahit nafull paid na. pakiupdate naman po sa contribution at loan info namin sa gwaps machine..baka po mgkaproblema kami pag retire , wala na kaming makukuha. kawawa nman po sa tagal ng serbisyo at pagsisikap ay walang makukuhang benefits dahil nandoon na lahat napunta sa intetests and penalties sa loan. please GSIS Admin do your job accurately and religiously. Thank You.

  5. I am Master Teacher 1 since 2015. If I retire on 2023, I will be 60 years old then. Will I receive 1 step higher MT2) benefit as stated in the Magna Carta for teachers?

  6. If a teacher retires at age 58 and has 13 years in government service, is she entitled to 1 salary grade higher upon retirement?
