DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones announced on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, in a virtual press briefing that they have scheduled the opening of classes for SY 2020-2021 in all public schools in the country on August 24, 2020, and will end on April 30, 2021.
"Naireport ko na sa IATF last week at nasabi ko na ang naipili naming date. Ang napili naming class opening date ay August 24," said Briones.
DepEd clarified that classes will not require teachers and learners to physically attend the school. Various delivery modes of learning will be applied especially in areas without internet connectivity.
