DepEd Undersecretary Diosdado San Antonio, in an interview, said that the enrolment dates for the school year 2020-2021 shall be from June 1 to June 30.
"Ang napagkasunduan ng Management Committee, ng mga Usec. at mga Regional Directors, ang enrolment po natin ay June 1 to June 30," he said.
He also explained how the enrollment shall be conducted in each school given the fact that the country is facing the threat against this pandemic.
"Sa pag-papaenrol po katulad din ng ibang mga gagawin, flexible po sya hindi kailangang magpunta ng mga magulang at mga mag-aaral. Bago po mag June 1 ay magbibigay ng anunsyo ang mga paaralan kung papaano makakapagpalista o makakapag-enrol," said Usec. San Antonio.
"Pwede kasing i-text na lang, o kung may access sa internet/online. Makakahanap naman ng paraan kung papaano makakapaghatid ng intensyon ang mga magulang na maipaenrol ang mga anak nila," he added.
During these enrolment dates, a survey shall also be conducted to the parents on the availability of gadgets, access to the internet, where they live, etc. This is to give enough information for the school to prepare the appropriate learning approach suited to the learners (face-to-face, online learning, home-based learning thru modules and printed materials) when the classes open on August 24.
