Opening of classes in August will not require students and teachers to go to school – DepEd

Deped Usec. Annalyn Sevilla clarifies that of classes shall open in August, it will not require teachers and students to report back in school on day to day basis.

“When we say opening of the school, it does not mean that we will be asking the teachers and students to physically report to the school,” Sevilla said in an interview.

She also emphasized that the department of education is working hard to come up with the learning continuity plan which will include different modes of giving learning instructions. The most popular as of now is the use of DepEd Commons. The focus of DepEd is to provide quality education that will not require a physical presence in the classroom but in the comfort of their houses to ensure safety and welfare.

“We are preparing modules para minimum lang ang face-to-face interaction. ‘Yung pag move ng opening from June to August, this will give us more time to train our personnel and the students for distance learning, so the school opening could happen without them going out of their houses,” Sevilla added.
