Parents have the final decision to enroll their children - DepEd

The Department of Education is constantly informing the public on their plans for the opening of classes this coming August 24.

Previously, DepEd has enumerated and explained different learning delivery options that each school may choose from depending on the situation in their localities. However, with the latest announcement by the President regarding the absence of the COVID vaccine which results in prohibiting the face-to-face interaction, DepEd has stressed that they are now focusing on other learning modalities which include modular or homeschooling and distance learning/online learning.

As the first week of remote enrollment is now ongoing, DepEd reported that they are receiving a good number of enrollees as of today despite the numerous opinions of parents on their children's safety come August 24.

“Will still continue to explain and present options and alternative delivery of learning without face-to-face for information and reference of all stakeholders,” said DepEd Usec. Annalyn Sevilla.

Secretary Leonor Briones also emphasized that parents have the final decision whether to enroll their children or not.

“We try to give them as much information as possible, so they will be in a better position to decide,” Briones said.
