The League of Provinces of the Philippines urged the Department of Education to reschedule the opening of classes that is originally set on August 24, 2020.
Gov. Presbitero Velasco of Marinduque and also the President of the League of Provinces of the Philippines told DepEd to reschedule the opening of classes to October or November.
"We are proposing that the opening of the schools be scheduled sometime in October or November, probably by that time we'll have a clearer picture of the situation with respect to the COVID-19," Velasco said.
Gov. Velasco also stressed that not all parents can provide their children with the necessary devices and means to be able to cope up with the plan of rendering distance learning.
