Public school teachers in Manila will receive free laptops courtesy of their local government while their learners shall receive free tablets. This is according to Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno during his public address on Friday.
“Bibili tayo ng 110,000 na tablet para sa mga batang Maynila. Walang gastos na ang mga magulang,” said Moreno.
“Ma’am, sir, mga teacher, wag kayong mag-alala. May laptop kayong lahat. Bibili tayo ng 11,000 para sa lahat,” Moreno added.
A total of P994 million was alloted for the purchase of the said devices in preparation for the "new normal" in education as proposed by the Department of Education.
Mayor Moreno also emphasized that they will take care of the internet connection so the teachers and learners can use the devices well.
