Marami sa mga pampublikong guro ngayon ang nagsasagawa ng iba't ibang uri ng negosyo, tradisyunal man o online. Ngunit sa panahon ngayon, online business ang pinapasok ng marami sa kanila upang magkaroon ng karagdagang kita para sa kanilang sarili at pamilya.
Dahil dito, may mga nagtatanong kung maaari nga bang mag-online business o online selling ang isang pampublikong guro gayong siya ay naglilingkod na para sa gobyerno sa nakatakdang oras?
Alinsunod sa Sec. 136 ng CSC Omnibus Rules on Appointments and Other Human Resource Actions (ORA ORAH), maaaring magnegosyo, gaya ng "online selling", ang mga kawani ng gobyerno kapag naisagawa o natupad ang itinakda ng batas. Sa kalagayan ng mga pampublikong guro, ito ay ang sumusunod:
1. Kailangan ng kasulatang nagpapahintulot mula sa Head of Office alinssunod sa alituntunin ng DepEd;
2. Ang oras na ilalaan sa pagnenegosyo ay hindi makaaapekto sa mabisang pagtatrabaho;
3. Ang negosyong isasagawa ay hindi salungat sa interes ng ahensiya o trabahong ginagawa;
4. Walang gagamitin na ano mang pagmamay-ari ng gobyerno.
At kung kinakailangan, iparehistro ang negosyo sa LGU/DTI/SEC/BIR.
