There will be no periodical or quarterly examinations for learners in this time of pandemic or in this school year. This is according to the Department of Education during its virtual press briefing held on Monday.
DepEd Undersecretary for Curriculum and Instruction Diosdado San Antonio stressed that instead of periodical exams, learners will be graded according to their written outputs and performance tasks.
"We are dispensing with the periodical exams in our proposed (revised) assessment on learning, we'll do written outputs and performance tasks," said San Antonio.
"This is the best time for us, so we are appealing to the parents, the grandparents, and other significant adults to help DepEd actually reinforce the value of honesty," he added.
However, the DepEd is yet to issue a memorandum regarding this new policy for learning assessment.
