Teachers are facing burnout, urged DepEd to reduce their workloads and webinars

As the Philippine educational system is moving towards its new normal due to the pandemic, teachers who are playing the major role in this endeavor are now facing burnout at work.

Tasks like printing and preparing the self-learning modules, communicating with the community linkages, planning for the opening of classes, and attending multiple webinars from here and there are the things that bring exhaustion to the teachers who are also risking their health by reporting to their respective schools.

The Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) urged the Department of Education to take these matters into consideration and issue a concrete set of guidelines on work schedules and reducing teachers' workloads to avoid burnout.

Exhausted teachers cannot perform their duties efficiently which may affect the implementation of their learning continuity plan.
