Senator Ramon Bong Revilla expressed the eagerness of the Senate to support the proposed teaching supplies allowance for teachers during the budget of hearing for DepEd held last September 25. In the proposed bill, the current P3,500 allowance of teachers shall be increased to P5,000.
“I think the teachers will understand that in this time of the pandemic, the government may not prioritize this; but maybe next year it will be. That’s why we will study this carefully, we will balance everything. We’ll make sure that we will also protect the interest of teachers,” said Revilla.
