In the FINANCIAL UPDATES posted by the official page of DepEd Usec. Annalyn Sevilla on August 17, 2020, numerous comments from public school teachers was intended on their request for an internet allowance that will surely be useful in performing their duties especially in connecting to their students in distance learning.
Usec. Sevilla then explained that each teacher has received a cash allowance amounting to P3,500 which can be used for internet fees and gives additional updates for expenses related to the implementation of distance learning.
"The DepEd has released the cash allowance of P3,500 which is intended to augment expenses incurred/spent by teachers in the actual performance of their teaching responsibilities (DO 10, s.2020). The Department is also discussing with oversight agencies (DBM, CSC and COA) to provide more guidance, authorization and funding cover, particularly on expenses related to meetings/training and activities related to implementation of distance learning", said Sevilla.
