Proposed New DepEd's Positions and their Salaries (TEACHER IV - VII)

Recognizing the need for teachers to have improved professional growth and opportunities, DepEd is proposing to add new teaching positions of Teacher IV, Teacher V, Teacher VI, and Teacher VII with corresponding higher salary grades after the current items of Teacher I, Teacher II, and Teacher III.

“Napapansin namin at sinabi rin ng mga teacher, minsan nag-uumpisa silang Teacher I forever Teacher I na lang sila, maghihintay pa kung mayroong magre-retire. Isang proposal na ginawa ng DepEd sa DBM at sa Presidente ang dagdag na teaching positions na may katumbas na mataas na sweldo but depende sa performance. If you do well, then you go up,” Briones stated.

The Education chief therefore reminded everyone in the Department of their vital role the delivery of quality basic education – as mandated by the Constitution: “Kung mayroong asenso, mayroon ding responsibilidad.”

“There is so much work to be done. The fight for quality will require no less than a national effort, with our teachers at the forefront,” the Secretary concluded.

Bridging the salary gap from Teacher III to Master Teacher I, these new positions shall receive the following salary grades and updated salary table:

TEACHER IV: Salary Grade 14 - P29,277/month
TEACHER V: Salary Grade 15 - P32,053/month
TEACHER VI: Salary Grade 16 - P35,106/month
TEACHER VII: Salary Grade 17 - P38,464/month

  1. Saang Ma categorize ang HT-III?
Bkit kailangang alisin p ang mga Head Teachers na dati ng nasa pwesto ganoong dati ng promoted. Pagtuturuin uli? In my case mas qualified ako nnoon sa MT. I still choose HT podlsition, dahil mas gusto ko n mag handle ng Teachers in my Dept. Kaysa magkaroon ng full teaching loads. Tapos ngayon ibabalik sa amin ang full teaching loads? Grabe naman. D ito promotion on our part, but a clear demotion on the nature if our job. Nakakadismaya. Lalo na at my age na 58 n. Kung ganyan baka mag early retirement n lang ako.

  2. AN OPEN LETTER FOR SEN. WIN GATCHALIAN
Magandang Umaga po Senator Win. I was there together with TDC Teachers Group during a Senate Committee Hearing on Teachers Salary Increase which was presided by Sen. Bong Revilla last year.
I also noticed that you filed a bill which aims to uplift the Salary Grades of Teacher1 wherein the entry level is SG11 be elevated to SG13..
We hope that T2 -T3 positions be elevated to fill up the vacant SGs 14-16. No need for T4-T7.
We understand that its difficult for our government to raise our wages simultaneously. And we expect that your version will be favored by our government. However we are dismayed and discouraged over the measly P1500 increase for lowest position. Our salary grades remained.
Still we are hopeful that through your benevolent efforts.. the New Teaching Promotion Scheme may be modified or amended if not totally scrapped soon. Thank you.
    Thank you and God bless.
