In a recent report, a senior high school student in Tupi, South Cotabato committed suicide because of the difficulty in answering the modules and its late submission. This was denied by the Department of Education and clarified that it is not because of the modules.
According to DepEd, the student's family and friends reported that he has never mentioned any problem regarding the modules.
Cebu National High School Assistant School Principal Judie De la Cruz said that the victim, along with his friends, was guided by the Weekly Home Learning Plans (WHLPs) in answering the self-learning modules.
Dela Cruz also stressed that the victim's parent was provided with proper orientation on how to use and how to answer the said modules.
