The Department of Education has received a total of 2,000 smart tablets from China on Tuesday, February 2, 2021.
In a turnover ceremony, DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones received the said tablets from Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian.

Ambassador Xilian stressed that this donation is intended to support the implementation of Blended Distance Learning in the country. He pointed that these Huawei brand tablets will be of great assistance to the Filipino learners amidst the pandemic.
According to the embassy, these smart tablets shall be given to the Filipino learners located in disadvantaged and conflict-affected areas in the country.
