DepEd PROHIBITS mass face-to-face training, seminars for teachers

The Department of Education made it clear that conducting a mass face-to-face training or seminar for teachers is still prohibited in adherence to the existing health protocols set by the IATF.

This is after the incidents in Zambales where 49 DepEd employees tested positive to COVID-19. According to the initial reports, those employees have attended face-to-face training/seminars and found out that the school heads were the organizers.

"The Department strictly adheres to the guidelines and required health protocols on work and office arrangements set by the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases), the Department of Health, and the Civil Service Commission (CSC),” DepEd said.

The said incident in Zambales is now under investigation and those authorities who will be proven to have breached the health protocols shall face appropriate disciplinary actions.

DepEd also reminds all its employees to strictly adhere to the health protocols and work arrangements set by the IATF, DOH, CSC, and DepEd to avoid this type of incident.
