DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones has stated that the COVID-19 vaccination of around 791,000 public school teachers in the country may start this coming June.
“Siguro mga June ito mag-umpisa kasi by that time mag-start na ng enrollment, marami nang activities sa eskwelahan at saka kailangan protektado ang mga teachers,” she Briones in a briefing.
Recently, the IATF has announced that the education workers are now included in the A4 cluster for the COVID-19 vaccination program. This means that they are next to be vaccinated after the senior citizens, medical frontliners, and persons with comorbidities.
“Napakalaking jump nito para sa mga teachers, magandang magandang balita para sa lahat. Matagal na namin itong kinakausap at kinakampanya para masama ang teachers sa mauna na mabakunahan sa A-list at galing sa B,” Briones added.
She also stressed that there is no need for the public school teachers to register for the said vaccination as the government already took care of it.
