Committed to protect the health and welfare of learners, teachers, personnel, and parents, the Department of Education (DepEd) is not allowing any face-to-face graduation and moving up rites for School Year 2020-2021 scheduled within the week of July 12 to 16, 2021.
Schools and community learning centers (CLCs) are instead encouraged to prepare a short virtual program that will run in less than two hours to consider the amount of mobile data that will be consumed and the internet connectivity of involved learners.
However, schools must secure the consent of the parents and learners if such broadcast will be publicly accessible, in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
Should the public health situation prevent the conduct of the EOSY rites within the said week, schools can also opt to reschedule or forego the activity, in consultation with the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA). Private schools, meanwhile, shall be guided by their approved school calendars in conducting the activity.
With the theme Kalidad ng Edukasyon Lalong Patataginsa Gitna ng Pandemya (Strengthening Quality Education Amid COVID-19 Pandemic), the Department is looking forward to highlight the efforts of our learners, teachers, and personnel in championing education amidst the public health situation in this year’s EOSY rites.
