Under the proposed Banayanihan to Arise as One Act ort 'Bayanihan 3', each Filipino will be granted a P2,000 cash aid or 'ayuda' to help them cope up with the crisis brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.
A member of the technical working group that drafter the Bayanihan 3, Marikina Rep. Stella Quimbo, mentioned that the total budget alloted for this cash aid to all Filipinos is around P216 billion.
"Katulad ng sinasabi ng marami, kung hindi ka man mamatay sa COVID, baka naman gutom ang ikamatay mo", said Quimbo.
Once approved, this cash aid will cover the rich, the poor, and those in the middle class.
According to Rep. Sharon Garin who is also part of the TWG of this bill, this cash aid aims to provide equitable distribution of financial support in all social classes.
“Everyone’s affected by this pandemic, poor Filipinos, rich Filipinos, and especially those in the middle class who were not covered by previous ayuda. So this ayuda will be for everybody,” Garin said.
