Service credits should be given to teachers who will be asked to report to school during vacation - DepEd Official

In the recent news, a DepEd official from Region I in the name of Sir Johnson Sunga explained that public school teachers are on vacation from July 19 to September 12, 2021. Therefore, they are not required to report to school or work from home during that timeframe.

According to him, a permit from the SDS should be secured if teachers will be tasked to report to school from July 19 to September 12.

He also stressed that public school teachers who will be tasked to report to school or even attend a virtual meeting during the said vacation should be given corresponding service credits. It also needs to be done with a permit or order through a memorandum.
