Public school teachers are not required to participate in summer activities particularly in the conduct of remedial and summer classes.
DepEd Undersecretary for Curriculum and Instruction Diosdado San Antonio stressed that school administrators should not make it compulsory for teachers to attend such activities that run from July 19 to August 21.
According to him, teachers are supposed to be on their vacation and school heads should not require to them in attending webinars or training.
However, San Antonio pointed out that there are teachers who are very much willing to voluntarily render their services even during the summer break. And for that, they will be granted corresponding service credits.
