Public school teachers to receive their world teachers' day incentive starting October 5


The Department of Education is set to release the World Teachers' Day Incentive Benefit amounting to P1,000 per public school teacher starting October 5, 2021.

DepEd Usec. Annalyn Sevilla confirmed that they have already prepared the budget for the release of the said benefit.

“We are hopeful at marami ay na-check na namin, naka-kasa na, naka-ready na by Oct. 5 they will receive their P1,000-incentive per teacher as the WTDIB,” Sevilla said.

In line with the government’s commitment to faithfully support our teachers for their dedication in delivering quality education, the Department of Education (DepEd) announces that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has approved the release of the World Teachers’ Day Incentive Benefit (WTDIB), in the amount of Php 1,000 per public school teacher, for 2021. This will be at a total cost of Php 910 million.

Introduced during the administration of Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones, the grant of WTDIB recognizes the vital role of our educators in addressing the challenges of the pandemic, especially in ensuring the continuity of learning.

With the ongoing preparations for School Year 2021-2022, we are grateful to our 900,000-strong teachers who have displayed their unwavering passion to serve and educate the Filipino youth.
