The Department of Education is set to have a dialogue with the Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) regarding the request for the monthly internet allowance of P1,500 for every public school teacher.
According to ACT, the SIM Cards provided by the Department of Education are practically not sufficient to meet the connectivity requirement of distance learning.
“The Department of Education has initiated a dialogue with ACT and that is one of the issues being discussed,” said presidential spokesman Harry Roque in a press briefing.
“Let us wait for the things that will be agreed upon by the Department of Education and the ACT leaders,” he added.
Meanwhile, DepEd has released an Official Statement on the existing Connectivity Load Program for Teachers to support their blended learning setup for SY 2021-2022 (READ THE OFFICIAL STATEMENT HERE).
