A group of teachers is urging the government for the immediate release of their cash benefits (Service Recognition Incentive and Performance-Based Bonus) as soon as possible.
Mr. Raymond Basilio, ACT Secretary-General, is urging Duterte's government to order the release of Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) for 2021 and Performance-Based Bonus (PBB 2020).
Basilio also stressed that teachers have been longing for these incentives especially in areas where the recent typhoon hit.
“The slow and dismal government response to the victims of typhoon Odette brings more gloom to lives of our people at this otherwise joyous time. Aid is urgently needed and the least Pres. Duterte can do for teachers and education support personnel is to direct the release of benefits that already have fund sources,” said Basilio.
For the grant of 2021 SRI, the president is yet to issue an Administrative Order. This incentive is given to all eligible DepEd employees since 2019.
As for the PBB 2020, it is still under review and validation of AO 25.
