As the Department of Education is set to implement the twice-a-month release of salary for public school teachers and other personnel to minimize the financial constraints of teachers, the teachers' group continues its call for a salary increase instead of the said release of salary.
The Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) posted on its official Facebook page that the new scheme of salary increase is not what the teachers need but a reasonable pay hike.
"Hindi 15/30 na sahod ang kailanga namin, Upgrade Teachers Salaries Now!", said on the post.
Many teachers have expressed their personal opinion on the matter. Some say that the twice-a-month release of salary may help them in budgeting their finances while some say that it will not resolve the fact that their salaries are practically not sufficient for their needs.
