Senatorial candidate Loren Legarda has pledged to push for the salary increase of teachers and non-teaching personnel during the Senatorial Forum organized by the Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT).
Legarda cited that in order to improve the education system of the country, the government must not only focus on having good infrastructures for the learners but also address the needs of teachers and non-teaching personnel.
“Naitaas na po natin ang sweldo ng mga military and uniformed personnel, gayundin ang ating mga nurses. We also have to push for a competitive salary for our teachers,” said Legarda.
Legarda also stressed that she has previously filed bills seeking to increase teachers' salaries and pledged to continue pushing for the approval of the said measure.
