The Department of Education (DepEd) may get additional budget to support its projects and programs with Vice-President Sara Duterte as the incoming Secretary.
Albay 2nd District Representative Joey Salceda said that the department is in a better position to fight for more budget now that the incoming secretary is the Vice-President of the country.
"Ang meron kay Sara na sa tingin for the first time, DepEd will have the better position to fight for budget, unlike before na hindi Bise Presidente ang Secretary ng DepEd,” he said.
Salceda stressed that she needs to work hard to improve the educational status of our country and focus on teachers' training as well in order for them to teach our learners even better.
"Ngayon, dahil Bise Presidente siya with 32.2 million votes, with the highest majority since Magsaysay, then I think she will have the mandate, as well as the access to resources to fight for the needed resources in order to make DepEd more competitive and do its national mandate,” he added.
