Hon. Ralph G. Recto of the House of Representatives filed a House Bill seeking an increase in the salary of government employees starting in 2024.
The H.B. No. 8081 or "An Act Modifying the Salary Schedule for Civilian Government Personnel and Authorizing the Grant of Additional Benefits" seeks to improve the purchasing power of approximately 2.46 million civil servants in the country that was eroded by inflation by providing an increase in their monthly salaries.
It aims to attract and retain competent civil servants and increase productivity among public sector workers.
