House Bill No. 9764 received approval on its third reading on Wednesday as 234 legislators voted in favor of it, with no votes against or abstentions. The main aim of this bill is to prolong the validity of all PRC IDs from 3 years to 5 years.
If the bill is passed, the Information and Communication Technology Service (ICTS) and other departments in the PRC will have the responsibility to finalize the required improvements to systems (known as the Licensure Examination Registration Information System or LERIS) and handle other administrative procedures within six months of the bill becoming law.
