No need for school heads to ask permission from their SDO in suspending F2F classes due to high heat index
DepEd has given the school heads the authority and discretion to suspend the conduct of in-person classes and shift to alternative delivery modes (ADM) in cases of extreme heat and other calamities that may compromise the health and safety of learners, teachers, and non-teaching personnel.
In an interview with DepEd Usec. Michael Poa, he stressed that school heads may immediately suspend face-to-face classes in their schools without the need for permission from the school division office.
"Hindi na po nila kailangang magpaalam sa school division office kasi nung umpisa, nagpapaalam pa, tumatagal", Poa said.
He also advised the schools still conducting face-to-face classes to prevent outdoor activities to ensure the safety of learners and teachers.
