The Department of Education will be releasing new "flexible" teaching loads for teachers where they are no longer required to render 7-8 teaching loads per day.
ACT Philippines Representative Antonio Tinio and Titser Rubs of ACT NCR Union shared some good news regarding the exhausting teaching loads of teachers under the MATATAG curriculum.
According to them, they have reached out to Usec. Gina Gonong, Undersecretary for Curriculum and Teaching in DepEd, informing her of the 7-8 teaching loads of teachers (45 minutes per load).
Usec. Gonong responded that the department will release "flexible" teaching loads for teachers requiring them to render only 5-6 teaching loads (1 hour per load). School heads are also expected to ensure that each teacher's number of teaching minutes per week is met.
