Clarification on the Grant of SRI 2024 to Government Employees

The Service Recognition Incentive (SRI), like the Performance-Based Bonus (PBB), is not a guaranteed yearly benefit. For the SRI 2024 to be released, there must first be a legal basis for its distribution. This typically takes the form of an Administrative Order (AO).

If President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. (PBBM) issues an AO to release the SRI for 2024, eligible government employees may receive the incentive. However, the availability and amount of the SRI will depend on the funding source outlined in the AO.

Last 2023, the AO for the grant of SRI was released on December 7, 2023 while the actual payment to all qualified government employees shall not be earlier than 15 December 2023.

Authorities warned the public, especially government employees, not to fall on fake news like the recent post confirming the grant of the said incentive which was then proven fake and recycled from last year's post of GMA News.

Employees are encouraged to stay updated on official announcements to confirm whether the SRI will be granted for this Fiscal Year 2024.
