The Department of Education (DepEd) announced on Monday its plan to launch a new initiative this November aimed at reducing educational setbacks among students impacted by typhoons and other natural calamities.
DepEd's Dynamic Learning Program (DLP) is crafted to counteract the interruptions in classes due to natural disasters and other obstacles by fostering self-directed, resource-efficient education.
This initiative will provide affected schools with the option to hold supplementary classes and employ DLP learning activity sheets in provisional educational spaces. These activity sheets are described by the department as "straightforward, focused, and flexible."
“We’re bringing resilience to the heart of learning so that no student’s education has to pause when challenges arise,” stated Education Secretary Sonny Angara in a release.
The initial rollout of the program is set to commence this November in schools impacted by disasters in the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
