CLASS SUSPENSIONS, January 30, 2025, Due to Shear line

According to DepEd Order No. 22, s. 2024:

Classes and work from Kindergarten to Grade 12 and the Alternative Learning System (ALS) will be automatically suspended when an Orange or Red Rainfall Warning is issued.

If classes are already in session when the warning is raised, school heads are mandated to immediately suspend classes and school work and facilitate the safe dismissal of students and staff.

As per the latest Weather Advisory from the PAGASA, these provinces are under the Orange and Red Warning (Heavy rainfall outlook due to Shear line Today, January 30, with Heavy to Intense Rainfall):

• Quezon
• Camarines Norte
• Camarines Sur
• Catanduanes

Teachers, learners, and parents are advised to communicate with their respective schools about the class suspensions and safety protocols.

January 30, 2025 – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued Weather Advisory No. 5 at 5:00 AM today, warning of heavy to intense rainfall due to the shear line affecting several regions.

Heavy Rainfall Forecast

According to PAGASA, significant rainfall is expected today, January 30, and tomorrow, January 31, with the following areas at risk:

January 30:

Heavy to Intense Rainfall (100-200 mm): Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, and Albay.

Moderate to Heavy Rainfall (50-100 mm): Laguna, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Sorsogon, Masbate, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar.

January 31:

Heavy to Intense Rainfall (100-200 mm): Isabela.

Moderate to Heavy Rainfall (50-100 mm): Cagayan, Aurora, and Quezon.

PAGASA also noted that rainfall levels may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas, increasing the risk of flooding and landslides. Additionally, areas that have experienced significant rainfall in recent days may see worsening impacts.
