Educators serving in the May 12 national and local elections will benefit from increased compensation and additional incentives, according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
The revised honorarium rates for the Board of Election Inspectors are as follows:
- Chairperson: PHP 12,000
- Poll Clerk: PHP 11,000
- Third Member: PHP 10,000
- Support Staff: PHP 8,000
This marks a notable increase compared to the 2022 elections, where the chairperson received PHP 10,000, while the poll clerk and third member earned PHP 9,000. Support staff were previously compensated with PHP 6,000.
The improvements in compensation reflect efforts to acknowledge and support the contributions of teachers in ensuring a smooth and credible electoral process.
