Are DepEd personnel mandated to wear the new uniforms starting SY 2025-2026?

To ensure a smooth and practical implementation of the new prescribed uniforms, the Department of Education (DepEd) has designated School Year (SY) 2025-2026 as a transition period for all DepEd officials and employees, collectively referred to as DepEd personnel. This policy is outlined in DepEd Memorandum No. 28, s. 2025, which aims to provide ample time for personnel to prepare and purchase the updated uniform sets without immediate pressure.

During this transition period, DepEd personnel are permitted to continue wearing their current or previously approved uniforms while gradually complying with the new uniform requirements. This approach seeks to minimize disruption and financial strain as personnel make the necessary adjustments.

Starting SY 2026-2027, however, the wearing of the new prescribed uniforms will become mandatory across all DepEd offices and schools nationwide. By then, all personnel are expected to be fully aligned with the updated uniform policy as part of the Department's continuous efforts to promote professionalism and unity within the education sector.
