Higher Teachers' Allowance On the Way

As part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s commitment to prioritizing educators' welfare, the Department of Education (DepEd), under the leadership of Secretary Sonny Angara, is preparing to implement a substantial increase in teachers' allowances.

Senator Sonny Angara has confirmed that the planned increase will be significant.

“Sa ilalim ng Bagong Pilipinas at sa utos ng pangulo na alagaan ang mga guro, magiging 10,000 yan. Dodoble. Alam ko may planong dagdagan pa yan. So abangan natin yan. Hindi ako magugulat kung tataas pa yan,” Sen. Angara stated.

Further improvements to teachers' compensation and benefits are expected as part of the government’s long-term education reform plans. With the administration’s focus on supporting educators, additional enhancements may be introduced in the future to further uplift the teaching profession.

As the government continues to work towards strengthening the education sector, Filipino teachers can anticipate more measures that will improve their working conditions and overall well-being.
