Upcoming Bonus and Benefits for DepEd Teachers in 2025

The Department of Education (DepEd) has announced a series of benefits and incentives for public school teachers in 2025. These upcoming benefits, including the Mid-Year Bonus, Clothing Allowance, and Medical Allowance, reflect the government's commitment to supporting educators and recognizing their contributions to the education sector.

Mid-Year Bonus

One of the most awaited benefits for DepEd teachers is the Mid-Year Bonus, which is equivalent to one month’s basic salary. This incentive is set to be released on May 15, 2025, in accordance with the government’s compensation structure. The Mid-Year Bonus is given to all qualified employees who have rendered at least four months of service within the current year and have not received any disciplinary actions.

Clothing Allowance

To support teachers in maintaining a professional appearance, the Clothing/Uniform Allowance will be provided in April 2025. This allowance amounts to ₱7,000 per teacher and is intended to help cover the costs of official DepEd uniforms. The provision of this benefit ensures that educators can adhere to the department’s dress code while minimizing out-of-pocket expenses.

Medical Allowance

For the first time, public school teachers will receive an increased Medical Allowance of ₱7,000. This initiative aims to assist teachers in covering health-related expenses, including check-ups, medications, and other medical needs. The expected date of release for the Medical Allowance is August 2025, marking a significant increase from the previous ₱500 annual medical subsidy. Providing this benefit is part of DepEd’s broader efforts to promote the well-being of its educators. (Please note that these projected timelines are based on standard government budgeting and disbursement procedures and may vary depending on the implementation strategies of individual agencies.) 
📌 First Quarter of 2025 – Budget preparation and fund allocation to agencies
📌 Second Quarter of 2025 – Government agencies coordinate with HMOs or prepare cash distribution processes
📌 Mid-2025 – Expected release of the ₱7,000 allowance, depending on the agency’s implementation method

Other Benefits to Expect

In addition to the aforementioned benefits, DepEd teachers can look forward to several other incentives throughout the year, including:

Year-End Bonus (Equivalent to one month’s basic salary, to be released in November 2025)

Cash Gift (₱5,000, released alongside the Year-End Bonus)

Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) (₱15,000, expected in December 2025)

Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) (Percentage-based incentive depending on school performance)

Election Service Benefits

Teachers who will serve in the May 2025 elections as members of the Board of Election Inspectors (BEIs) and other election-related roles will be entitled to additional benefits. These include:
  • Chairperson: from PHP 10,000 in 2022 to PHP 12,000
  • Poll Clerk: from PHP 9,000 to PHP 11,000
  • Third Member: from PHP 9,000 to PHP 10,000
  • Support Staff: from PHP 6,000 to PHP 8,000
This adjustment reflects a PHP 2,000 increase across all positions compared to the 2022 elections. 
The number of service credits granted to teachers for election service will be doubled from 5 to 10 days. Other government employees serving during the elections will receive an additional 5 days of service credits. These credits can be utilized for future leave, providing staff with deserved rest and recovery time post-election.
